I feel I was duped into letting out my flat when I was not ready to and before I had had time to peruse, discuss and sign the contract. I was late receiving the contract due to alleged "server problems" and I went into the office three times to check up on it. When I was finally given my contract, I had little time to discuss issues I was worried about. One issue was the tenant, having already moved in, had taken in another girl. When I tried to explain that this was not the deal I had expected and it was unfair and unsuitable, I was told there was nothing I could do about it!! When I pointed out that I had not yet signed the contract, I was told that the contract had been signed on my behalf the day the tenant moved in!! The fact that there were now two people squashed into a small flat suitable for only one, and that the flat was already in a disgusting mess, was something nobody could address!! I was never told that this could happen. I was never warned that this contract was about to be signed on my behalf. Now I am left with a situation I am EXTREMELY unhappy with and nobody is doing a thing to help me!
You will appreciate that this is only a summary of what actually happened. You say in your advert that you offer expert advice to landladies - where was it when I needed it???
Oh yes, the tenant is a friend of one of the staff members! Makes me think!!
What agent could do to change your mind?
They should have maintained proper contact with me. They should have made sure I understood everything. They should have got the contract to me in good time. They should have alerted me to the fact that they were about to sign if they felt I was delaying. They should have reassured me when I went to the office that they would at least try to contact the tenant and see what was going on.
