Earlier in 2022, I had a dreadful experience with another agent, who did not chase my sale for months, and thus did not realise that my then purchaser introduced another big chain into the transaction 3 months into the process. The sale fell through and I was tempted to go to an online agent to save money.
However I am glad I gave Hannells a go, because they worked hard for their money over the 17 weeks that it took to get my new sale through.
Kelia from Hannells valued the property and as we needed to sell relatively quickly she came up with a strong figure which she was still confident would ensure a good spread of potential purchasers - and we had plenty of viewings over a 3 week period before I accepted an offer.
From then on, the sale had several hurdles to overcome. In a market as wobbly as a jelly on a bouncy castle it is a particular stressful time, because if mortgage offers were to expire, then the transaction could be put in jeopardy.
Amanda and Emma in particular were always happy to chase up the chain, and in the later stages, this was needed 2-3 times per week to keep solicitors and the other agent involved on the ball. Emails were always answered, and phone calls either answered or returned promptly. Ultimately Hannells being paid depends on getting the sale through to completion and when things aren't going as smoothly as you would like, it is important to know that professionals are committed to getting the deal done.
Not all agents are the same, house transactions in this country can be a minefield, and I would definitely recommend Hannells and would use them again.
