This company is atrocious and dealing with them has been painful.
When we went to view some properties, the branch manager for the city was late, and he told us what we wanted to hear regarding replacing filthy mattresses, and that the home would be cleaned. These later turned out to be lies.
Upon arrival at the property, we found that the place hadn't been cleaned at all and was filthy, despite the contract explicitly stating the home would be presented in a clean and professional manner. The mattresses had not been replaced or even cleaned, one had simply been turned over.
The letting agency had not completed an inventory of the property and could not present us with a copy of the gas safety certificate. There were 23 broken lightbulbs in the property, the front and back doors wouldn't close properly and many appliances were broken.
When we told Marshall Property about the state of the home, we were told that cleaners would be round right away. We were told this for 7 days in a row until they finally did send cleaners around to sort the place.
The myriad broken appliances and lightbulbs took the company months to replace, all the while we found other issues such as broken blinds, broken bedframes and broken window frames. These issues also took months and months of calling the company every few days to be resolved.
Furthermore, we saw mice in the property shortly after moving in and found many droppings in, among other places, my bedroom cupboards.
It took us over a month before the company finally sent someone round to confirm that we had mice, after which nothing was done.
The entire time we were dealing with this company, their employees would tell us that our problems were not their problems and kept defering us to the one maintenance worker at the entire business.
Additionally, we were lied to on multiple occasions by both the branch manager of the city office and the landlady of the property regarding what had been done to the home prior to our arrival as well as when and whether appliances would be replaced.
The company did not even address 5% of the issues we were telling them about for months until we witheld rent payments for 2 months in a row.
At this point, the extremely unprofessional and rude MD took "charge" and within 2 weeks, about 90% of the issues had been dealt with. Months after we first informed the company about our issues.
Suffice to say I would not recommend this company to a single person and I cannot wait to permanently end my professional relationship with them.
