I had just recently moved to London with my girlfriend--who graciously only brought 1/10th of her clothes, meaning I had to hug around 10 huge suitcases--from Los Angeles. We were staying in hostels for a while as we tried to find a place to rent without much success. As soon as I wanted into Ellis and Co in Golders Green everything changed. After having dealt with a lot of real estate agents during our search, we had pretty low expectations. It's not too much to say that James Ryan really changed my perception. I must have walked into 100 real estate offices in the weeks before I found Ellis and Co. Mr. Ryan was helpful, understanding, kind, and dedicated to exactly what we needed. He really honed in on exactly what we wanted and needed and made it happen quickly. Even when we were dealing with the payments logistics, which were pretty confusing as we had to transfer money from our banking entity in Los Angeles to London, he was kind and helpful. Foxtons tried to push us into properties that we didn't like or were to expensive; Felciity J lord was obtuse and aloof; and though the people at winkworth were also consistently helpful, they did not compare to Ellis and Co. I really lucked out. In short, he made a difficult and long process as easy and simple as possible, always thinking about exactly what we needed. I cannot recommend him with more earnestness and confidence.

I had really bad experiences with this agent. They do not accompany potential buyers on visits, maybe that is good because they do not know answers to simple questions like how much service charge there is despite me having told them.
One of them at least is rude, does not know his business and makes unwarranted accusations, lies,...dear dear dear.
They do not answer most emails. They do not answer texts. They do not return phone calls, often.
I complained but no response from the manager.
In my view it is best to go for an online agent who will save you 2.4%.
Of course Ellis will say they have a good record selling properties. It is really easy to sell a property if you under price. Whether other agents do the same of course is a moot point.

Daniel Grayson helped myself and my flat mate find this amazing home for us. Daniel wouldn't stop searching for new flats for us until we were very happy with one. As executor for my mother I was tasked with selling her house on behalf of the family. The family was going through a tough time and we wanted an agent who could help us make a very emotional situation as painless as possible.
James came to see us and straight away put us at ease and took charge of the whole process and kept us informed every step of the way along with his excellenht team, especially Jason who I had most dealings with. We opted for a sole agency agreement as we totally trusted Ellis & Co. We had offers after the first viewings, infact the second viewing offered me the asking price!
I can also recommend the solicitor provided by Ellis & Co for the conveyancing who also did a first class job of arranging the paperwork and all correspondence.
All in all, if you want a first class Estate Agent who 'Gets The Job Done' then they are the agent for you, they have been worth every ££ of the commission paid. Good Luck :-)

We recently purchased a property from Ellis and Co. We received excellent service from Jason who worked incredibly hard to ensure that the sale went ahead. It was quite a difficult and lengthy process but Jason was professional, calm and kept us up to date throughout.
Without his input and efforts in chasing various solicitors and vendors in the chain I have no doubt that the sale would have fallen through. We have no hesitation in recommending Ellis and would definitely use them to buy/sell a property in future.

We have just completed on the sale of a property in Golders Green with Ellis and Co. The main agent handling our sale was Jason. I was extremely impressed with how he handled our sale. He worked tirelessly on our behalf. I always found him to be courteous, highly professional and true to his word (e.g. if he said he'd phone me back at a particular time with an update, he always did). I never doubted that he was always acting in our best interests, and that he treated the sale of our property as his highest priority. As executor for my mother I was tasked with selling her house. I interviewed four local estate agents and selected James Ryan of Ellis & Co. even though he was the most expensive. I guess you get what you pay for and I have not regretted the decision.
I finished clearing the house on a Tuesday and it was put it on the market the next day. That afternoon Jason rang me to say that he had been contacted their "hot clients" and had already had two visits. One of them had made an offer and, after a little gentle persuasion, had offered the full asking price. He then asked me what I wanted to do. Well, I wanted to sit down! To be fair, the house was always going to sell quickly. But this was just crazy fast. And at full price which I was not expecting.
Jason rang me several times during the conveyancing process to give me updates or politely chase me up if something needed doing, which I appreciated. I think he also gave a gentle nudge to the solicitors...
The process was as painless as it could be and I felt that I was in safe hands at all times.
