As an ex-tenant of a Lime Tree Houses Property, I advise that you look elsewhere if wanting to rent or buy a property.
IF I COULD GIVE LESS THAN ONE STAR, I DEFINITELY WOULD.
We initially viewed our property in June of 2018, where we were taken to said property by one of the two ladies that runs Lime Tree Houses, Julie Hibbs. We were led around the property briefly and it was then that we made our decision that this was the property that we wanted to move into. A few weeks later, we had made the payments towards our deposit and first 6 weeks of rent, and moved into the property. It was then that we discovered that the estate agent manager, Julie, had been kind during the viewing period, as it was clear that she wanted to fill the property and therefore was kind and approachable (as you would expect an estate agent to be), however once we had moved into the property and she had received our deposit and rent, and we were tied into our contract, that she became incredibly rude and abrupt with both myself and my other half at any instance where we made contact with her.
At first, we thought that Julie just had an issue with us, and then we thought that it may be that she does not favor the younger generation, however having read the reviews, which you can see below this one, it is clear that she is rude to everybody, which is not a good trait for somebody that wants your business. Julie’s approach to business is one where she constantly puts her nose up at anybody she has to deal with.
The other lady that works with Julie, Jackie, is quite the contrary as she is, as previously mentioned, what you would expect an estate agent to be. She is kind and understanding, and is aware of the reviews that Lime Tree Houses has received in the past regarding Julie.
Once we had moved into the property, we received our inventory which outlined all of the issues that were outstanding in the property. I write this 12 months later, and I can safely say that there are some issues that were outlined to us on day one, and the same issues that we then took into the estate agents to ask them to fix, which have still not been fixed. You should be made aware that you will be expected to pay to have your carpet professionally cleaned, as well as the oven, hob and extractor, which was not something that was mentioned to us when we moved into the property.
Both the landlord that maintains the property, and Lime Tree Houses that advertises and “helps“ the tenants (as you are not “allowed” to contact the landlord directly), are incompetent and are of almost no use whatsoever. You should be aware, before moving into the property, that any issues that you have with the property will not be fixed by the time you vacate the property.
I would strongly advise that you look elsewhere when choosing which estate agent to use for either renting or buying a property, as to say that Lime Tree Houses are a joke would be a rather large understatement.
If choosing to buy or rent a property with Lime Tree Houses, primarily look elsewhere, and if you absolutely must rent or buy with them, ensure that you ask to speak with Jackie rather than Julie, you will see why if you ever have the displeasure of meeting her.
