'Disgruntled' - think you hit the right nerves there. don't worry many people I know that have experienced the same thing all end up with the same thoughts. offers over/offers in excess of... just a cheap way of trying to get lower prices off people. sharks. the only way to describe this company.

As always, these platforms are often a very good place to voice grievances or praise and we welcome feedback be it good or bad. Fortunately, the vast majority of reviews that we receive as a company are very positive. However, selling nearly one in three houses in the large areas we work within through our network of eight offices, covering Wiltshire and parts of Oxfordshire.

We'll be the first to admit that we don't always get it right. But in the rare instance that we don't, I can assure you that it is never through the lack of desire, commitment or professionalism that we pride ourselves on.

We will always try do deliver a Rolls Royce level of service and whilst we take on board what you have said, we feel that it is a little unfair on the whole. So, I thought I would take this chance to address them and hopefully move forward.

You were interested in a property that we were advertising for sale and in order to help you achieve the shared, end goal of securing that property, we offered to assist with the sale of your property. Your property was on the market with an online agent already, and you were happy for us to help out as you didn't have much joy with them.

Our proactive, innovative approach to the marketing strategy of your property (which has worked many times for other property sales across our network) resulted in you agreeing to advertise your property at ‘Offers in excess of £375,000'. This was in comparison to the strategy that you were using with your previous agent of a price that started in the low £400,000's. So yes, we were adopting a tried, tested and approved approach whereby the price is lower to act as a catalyst to get footfall through your property in order to achieve an offer where we were able to negotiate an increase to a price that you would be happy to accept that would enable your onward purchase through ourselves. Something which despite your current grievances, you were happy to take our advice on and proceed with.

You then dis-instructed us, before the property that you were interested in had a sale agreed, after just eleven days of marketing. Eleven days in which we were not able to produce a viewing. This is something nobody is more disappointed with than us. There was every incentive there for us to sell your property which would have resulted in two sales instead of one. The fact that we were not able to produce viewings within this very short time frame is of course disappointing, but not through the lack of desire. In hindsight, given the price your property is currently on the market at, it was probably price driven. But we don't like to come up with superfluous excuses. We like to come up with solutions. We saw that marketing your property in this way was a solution – clearly in this individual case, it wasn't.

After telling us to remove your property from the market and not communicating that you were still indeed going to try and move and list with another agent for the third time, not solely remove and stay put, we sold the property that you were interested in to one of the four people that offered. From our view point, there was no need to contact you as we were led to believe that you were no longer moving. We felt as though this would have been ‘rubbing salt in the wounds', so to speak, and did not want to further remind you that you missed out on the property that you were initially interested in.

Having initially launched with an online agent, then us, you are now on to agent number three. Seemingly, from your comments about moving to a ‘better agent', they are doing a much better job. But for the benefit of people who will take the time to read your review, we would like to point out that you are now on the market with your third agent and have already reduced the property with this agent by a further £15,000. This is c.£50,000 less than you initially launched at.

You mention that our fee is the most expensive in the area, also. We can always tailor a fee structure to suit our clients needs. So again, we feel that is a little unfair for you to pass comment and deem us the most expensive because of your singular experience. If you wanted the same level of service as your initial online agent, coupled with the lower fee, whereby the marketing strategy is to advertise the property solely on RightMove and not proactively cross-sell viewings, speak to applicants, use a large network of applicants to achieve the best outcome for you, then we would have created a bespoke package for you.


We do find it odd that this review has only just been published (13/1/19) after dis-instruction on 12/11/18. But would like you to know that I have escalated this to Richard James himself who takes these matters very seriously. After all, we have not built what we have through reviews such as yours.
