This company have held onto over £2000 of our deposit, collectively as a group of tenants. They and the landlord went on to accuse us of criminal damage and drug dealing within the property which is defamation of character and far from the truth. We have since revisited the property to see a brand new television, sofas, new kitchen table, new carpets, desks, cupboards and a decorated basement. None of the aforementioned were needed when we left the property, it was in the state that we found it but we think we know now what has happened to the money from our deposit as is increasingly evident. The only criminals are Philip James who make money off hustling students. We are yet to receive any of our deposit from the previous tenancy (illegal should be returned within a month of you leaving a tenancy) and they are yet to fit our current flat with any essentials such as a working kettle, fridge and a table to sit at as was agreed when we signed for the property. I have never experienced such poor customer service, everybody who you call at Philip James has an attitude as if you are a nuisance to their day - absolute jobsworths, many of the agents are stealing a living and am surprised they are still in businesses from what our current landlord has to say about their atrocious property management.
