I am struggling to sell my property due to the lease hold, I had to pay £150 to get a quote from Freehold Managers to see how much it would cost to purchase the freehold. They came back with £13000 plus £525 and solicitors fees, there is 102 years on the lease. I explained that was too much so they said come back with another numbers, they are willing to take £100 off the £13000, 0.75 discount I paid more than that to find out how much it would cost. Absolutely robbing and disgusting response.

Appauling company. Each new client - they charge nearly £100 just to register the contract with them...they do zero admin for this...just keep hounding you with emails - with lots of legal language - it always feels intimidating. Then once you do ensure your tenant is rolling on the contract...they still send you the same letter year after year...asking you to pay again...only for you to correct them and their response is always 'I've updated your account now'. No - you haven't - clearly...becasue it happens on repeat. I am yet to get breakdowns of their fees and what they actually ever do. I can hand on heart say, if I get another investment property and the guys behind it are Freehold Manager PLC, I would walk away.

If I could give these guys 0 stars I would. I've never known any company charge so much money for doing so little. Avoid like the plague. It is as if they sit around dreaming up new ways to take money from people.

Nothing wrong with Free-hold Managers services.
They over-seen the managing of my Bournemouth flat since new, 14 years ago.. No problems at all.
I pay my maintenance charges + ground rents on time, so don't incur fines (as some others do). The staff are responsive and help-full when I phone them. Its generally known that most reviews are made by disgruntled people and the happy people don't bother to write as , why should they.

A few months ago, I published details of my and my son's experiences at the hands of Freehold Manager's in obtaining a Deed of Variation to allow subletting. Despite paying a significant premium, we had no choice but to also agree to a substantial hike in ground rent. I am very pleased to say that following a complaint, Freehold Manager's have offered to reduce my ground rent to its original levels (no catches) and the matter is now with solicitors. Of course, nothing's done til it's done but hopefully things will be put right soon. I hope this is a sign of a general improvement in treating leaseholders fairly.

Legal but immoral and unfair business practices: My son and his wife had had their flat on the market for 3 years. Desperate to sell. In the end, I offered to buy it to help them move. Before we could complete, the lender needed a variation to the lease to allow subletting (one tiny paragraph). Freehold Managers demanded £1500 for this and would only agree to it if we signed up to an exhorbitant increase in ground rent. Had no choice but to agree. Disgraceful. Bring on regulation.

Feb 20, 2018Freehold managers are not a professional or responsible company i pay i have paid 1700 pounds in ground rent in three years all in charges . I habe sent 10 cheques not one cashed and numerous calls to arrogant people saying not recieved anything. Say they have sent correspondence to me not recieved anything but reminders them charges. Delt eith their solicitors anf said i would give them 2018 ground rent who said this was fine informed freehold by email and phone of this and said cannot do it and to send them cheque . I said no not going through all hassell and jb leitch will forward cheque. Final not asked to buy lease couldn't even give me a price.

Aug 4, 2018These idiots can't take card payments over the phone, I now owe 150 ground rent which has increased to over 1000 with their charges and the now don't contact me but go through my mortgage company , tried to make arrangements to pay they come up with ridiculous plans avoid them at all costs they are not legitimate

Comments on Agent Fees
£95 for filling in an online form to tell them info about subletting that they've not needed in the past 5 years (and then about half the amount each time there's a tenancy renewal). I do not think that is reasonable. And the need for this information appears to have been dreamed up during the coronavirus pandemic when people are potentially in a very vulnerable situation physically and financially. I hope you are proud of yourselves Freehold Managers Plc.

Freehold Managers are the scum of the earth, in my opionion. The bought the lease from my builders from whom I had purchased a flat. Freehold Managers are the scum of the earth, in my opionion. The bought the lease from my builders from whom I had purchased a flat. They refused to admit that they had made a mistake and threathen re-possession. This got my mortage provider involved and £20,000 in legal fees later (over a £465 debt) it was settled. They are blood suckers, in my experience

2 weeks late for invoice and stung 200 pound in supposed solicitor fees. Very much work hand in hand with first port property who are rip off merchants all of who just collect high fees and don't look after the buildings your flat is in. 2 weeks late for invoice and stung 200 pound in supposed solicitor fees. My new build flat which now sits at 10 years old building and is left very un maintained. Poor show to all concerned will never buy a leasehold property again!!

Freehold Managers PLC collect ground rent for landowners of a housing development in Burton on Trent ( and many others no doubt) in which I have a long-lease flat. The Lease agreement allows for the ground rent to be increased after 10 yrs of development completion. FM PLC have admitted FORGETTING to review this, and as such did not increase charges.
They have now retrospectively reviewed, and are sending out back-dated demands for ground rent. They are clearly not prepared to take the hit for their mistake, as their landowner clients will no doubt be suing them for loss of earnings, so they are chasing back dated fees with menacing letters including threats of accumulating admin charges etc. A scandalous business model that would be laughed out of court in any other industry. NOT IMPRESSED
