It is no wonder that estate agents have a poor reputation. My experience with Roger Platt's was that they will say whatever they need to in order to get the sale then lost interest once you have signed.
I was told not to worry and promised that I would be looked after when I went to purchase a flat. I was assured that it would be ready for completion by Xmas and, as it was not possible to visit the site I had to take their word for it. They didn't even fill in the details on the Reservation form, just emailed it with an attached invoice for the builder! This turned out to be quite useful though as it had the site manager's mobile number on it, which I was not supposed to have!
It seems that they can just say what they like and always pass on the responsibility to someone else. One of their agents who was on site told them the flats would not be ready by Xmas but this was ignored. On their website, they continued to advertise 'Move by Xmas' up to 22/12/16, knowing that it was a lie. Had I known the truth, I would have bought elsewhere.
I would never use them to buy/sell or as a letting agent.
