Where do I begin.

As a student, who is busy studying more often than not, I would expect to not have to worry about my housing situation once an agreement has been signed. Well this was definitely not the case

The Canterbury agency as a whole is run extremely poorly and completely unprofessional. I could name 101 issues I have with this agency, including the staff, but just to name a few.
- When paying your rent, you would expect a reciept to be emailed to you immediately, to avoid any confusion in the future, well about 9/10ths of the time they will never send it. Which leaves you without any proof that you have made a payment at all.
- The phone is never answered in this place, and the member of staff you request for whatever reason is never available. I and my house have probably asked numerous times for the agent to give us a call back when they are free, which they either seem to forget or never bother doing. Leaving you to face the consquences alone. A complete mess.
- When going into the agency personally to collect keys for our property, they were absolutely certain that we already had them, which we did not. Not organised at all and they ended up being in the safe under our house name. This could have, and almost did lead to us having to fight a case for not paying additional fees for house keys that we did not even receive.
- The agency lost track of our payments numerous times, with thousands of pounds a month in rent being given to these professionals to manage, and as well as no receipt being issued to us, now at the end of the tenancy agreement it is becoming a disaster, all of which is completely THEIR fault. Not to mention we are having to deal with this mess during exam season.

I could name SO SO many more problems I have had with this agency, but these are just some of the few. STUDENTS IN CANTERBURY SHOULD MOST DEFINITELY NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE.

I am a fair person, I have great relations with people and understand customer care, but this is beyond ridiculous and no student should EVER have to face the problems and complacency given by these so called professionals.

What agent could do to change your mind?
Been polite. Not broken the law. Been honest and not tried to sell us deals that weren't in our best interests. Gotten important paper work accurate first time (took them 3attempts and lost us 2 weeks on the deal)

What agent could do to change your mind?
Better service, train your staff properly and get rid of any team member who is obviously incompetent. Stop charging stupidly high admin fees when I had found out by other agents (from where I come from) that the costs are a fraction of the price.

It is impossible to get insurance before you move in! Most letting vultures simply whisk you around the property in about 5 seconds flat before you've had the chance to consider what you would need to put down on an insurance application for it to be valid. ...
