I sold my house this summer (2020!) and bought another, both through Godwin Curtis. Not only were all of the staff thoroughly pleasant, knowledgeable, dedicated and professional but one member of staff, Jason King, particularly deserves recognition. He worked very hard to achieve a sale on my property and the purchase of my chosen new home, but he did so against the background of actually wanting to buy the same house himself. He could have whipped that house from under my nose at any point, but he did not. He showed supreme personal and professional integrity, and stood aside to let me buy the house. This guy deserves national recognition for what he did. What better quality could one ask for in the people you are doing business with? Thank you, Jason.

I have only encountered Goodwin Curtis once in my search for a flat in Canterbury. The encounter was however not a pleasant experience. It is not the long waits to get a reply that is the main issue, it's the rude and rather unprofessional attitude that makes this an uncomfortable conversation.
This is of course just based on one episode, so things might be different under other circumstance. Never the less, I don't think I have ever encountered a less helpful man than Mr. Goodwin. How he ended up working in service is beyond me.

I sold my house using Godwin Curtis just about a year ago now. I had monitored the market for some time and felt I knew how the house would sell. GC initially suggested a price I was not happy with; I was confident the house would sell for much more and it did. In a difficult market at the end of summer and going into the winter months I averaged one viewing a week. GC came and conducted each viewing except for one on a Sunday. All in all I was very pleased with them. They were always available to answer questions/worries. I'd use them again and have recommended them. I am very surprised they have been give such negative reviews by some.

I found this company both pleasant to deal with and efficient when they sold my property. They got within £1k of the asking price and I was very pleased. David Godwin was very businesslike and he was recommended to us by a friend.

My experience of this agent was excellent, Scott came and valued our property, he was polite and professional (the current market is difficult one with recession still looming so we did not expect an instant sale) our property was at the high end of the market and although it took a while to sell, we got the original asking price and a lot of useful feedback. Scott was very knowledgeable about the market and its trends. He was also very honest with us regarding the pro's and con's of our home.
I particularly wanted to give our business to a local independent agent who did not advocate 'A hard Sell' as I had previously been pestered by other estate agents and I assure you it is not pleasant. Scott offered a good rate and presented the details well.
The other members of staff were helpful in the office and returned calls as and when promised.
Scott kept us updated throughout the sale, the buyers also seemed very happy with the proceedings I would definitely use his services again.

We chose Godwin Curtis to market our property as when they came out to do the valuation they appeared professional, well presented and very complimentary, they also subtly insult the other agents in the area and give you confidence that they will represent you more personally as they have no "targets to meet" such as the big corporate agents. In heinsight they overvalued our property by approximately 18%. Within 1 week of marketing our property at the price that was suggested to us we were under pressure to "slash the price". We had to phone for feedback and were never contacted by them and over a period of a month Scott became increasingly aggressive and rude abot our property. On their advice we decreased the asking price of our house and within 3-5 days told us to "slash the price again". We were fortunate as we had a relocation expert helping us with our move and they ran a "secret shop" on Godwin Curtis, posing as the ideal buyer looking for a house in our street with our budget. Not only did our details not get passed on, no details were taken from them and our assistants disinstructed them in contract after 6 weeks due to a breach of contract. Our new agents subsequently went to Godwin Curtis for the keys and Scotts final insult was to say "its only worth xxxx" 75k under the price they had instructed us to put it on the market at. Subsequently, i have discussed Godwin Curtis with other vendors and a number of them have expressed the same concerns and stories. In short, Initially impressive followed by aggression, rudeness and unprofessionalism. I could not stress to you how disgusted we are with Scott and i would never ever recommend using this agent.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Nothing would ever lead me to use this agent, they are a disgrace

Mr Curtis is not to be trusted: he does whatever in order to achieve his goals? Professional? Not at all! Just run away from this guy. While selling and buying houses, I have dealt with several estate agents, and these estate agents might be ranked one of the worse.

This is without doubt the worst firm of letting agents I have ever had dealings with, either as a landlord or tenant. They promised that the property would be professionally cleaned before we took up occupation, but it was in fact disgustingly filthy. They made several mistakes in transferring the utilities to our name and then expected us to sort things out for them. They were unacceptably slow in arranging for a total hot water and central heating failure to be fixed; a problem that the plumber who eventually turned up said was caused by the fact that the boiler had never been serviced. They didn't inspect the property once during our six month tenancy, and finally they tried to get us to pay a month's rent in lieu of notice because we hadn't told them that we intended to vacate the property at the end of our tenancy. No, we didn't understand their logic either!
