It's our first time renting in London and unfortunately the service of the management team has been nothing but poor. Initially we were so grateful for the service we had when obtaining the leasing agreement and moving in with such a fast turnaround. However, it's been downhill from there.
We have had multiple fire alarms go off with no response from the property manager. The property management business number advised they were unable to assist and to call the emergency lettings number, which we then phoned and they advised our property was not registered with their agency and they could not assist. We then phoned another number which was apparently for the property developer (as it was a new build, and one section was still currently being completed), no answer, this too was also a dead end.
As it was a new build, there were the obvious issues that needed to be rectified, this itself was a task to get a response. Almost 2 months on and our questions are still yet to be answered, and issues still yet to be resolved.
The hot water has stopped working multiple times (which in London is classified as an 'emergency' and you can contact the emergency line for), again the property isn't registered and the emergency line cannot help us. The agent doesn't respond to emails or phone calls, the property manager voicemail is full of messages and you cannot leave a message. You just have to sit and wait.
Unfortunately, it's not been a pleasant experience for us, and I would urge anyone looking to rent to proceed with caution and ensure you do your research on the company as opposed to rushing into a property you love the look of.
