The gentleman who done the viewing was brilliant - very helpful but was told no maintenance to pay on property which turned out to be incorrect - he was going on info from the office.
Went directly to office after viewing to make further enquires and to put an offer in, again helpful but told no maintenance to pay.
put further offer(s) in over phone due to bidding war!!!! offer accepted, but far above price it was marketed at, really think they marketed it at a come get me price, response to as to why so high was vendor has upgraded property to high standard - not so, The the process of purchasing began. things started to turn, staff very pushy to convince you to use their conveyance team, only called when they were trying to push things forward even though I copied them in on emails to let them know when things had been done or were in the process of being done (no doubt to get the sales through as quick as possible to get their commission!) found them rushed and unhelpful over the phone - then 6-8 weeks down the line I was informed that maintenance was payable, by this stage I was too far along the line to pull out as too much money had been spent on surveys etc. called office to say how upset and disappointed I was to find out at the last minute other monies were payable, they then blamed the vendor for providing lack of info but surely if they are taking on a property to sell you are dependent on them for the full info when viewing or at the latest when you put in an offer! I was told over the phone that it was not their fault it was vendors and I could always pull out - this is after spending nearly 5k!! not very helpful! sale went a head of course, they whole process took over 3 months! Exchanged, went to office to collect the keys, gave my name and address of property, keys were handed over without asking for proof of ID and not one word was said to me, no congratulations / hope your happy in your new home/ any other questions please don't hesitate to call us ... oh sorry, not quite true, they gave me the keys with a "there you go", Not impressed by Mayhew Estate Agents, Horley
