I can unfortunately only echo the repeatedly used adjective to describe them: dishonest. I had tenants, who were told that the landlord insisted on a rent increase, when in fact I was not even consulted about the rent review. As I was also in direct contact with the tenants, I confirmed to them that I would not increase the rent after 1 year, so they forwarded me the email sent by Hodders claiming the opposite :( I made a complaint at the time. When it came to finding new tenants, they were not my first choice, but eventually agreed that they could also market the property. They literally covered up the original agent's board with theirs and tried to persuade me to change my locks, as apparently they didn't work. As it turned out, the agent didn't know how a Yale lock worked (or they hoped that I didn't know?). When I found out about these, I immediately terminated my agreement with them.

I apologise that you were unhappy with the service received; I was the member of staff who got locked into the property, and had to call my manager to come and rescue me. We have also spoken to our board firm about where they positioned our board, as this is obviously not good practice. I'm sorry you feel this was about Hodders, and if there is anything we can do to change your mind about using us in the future, please do let us know.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.

As a landlord, I have received an appalling service from this estate agent. I had a tenant who defaulted on his rent payments, and Hodders have used a deposit lodged with them for maintenance to collect their commission on that rent! The staff involve themselves as little as possible in any issues... Read Full Review

Complete nightmare with this agency from start to finish. I am a landlord, they mismanaged my property so badly that they were eventually forced to refund me some of the management fees they had charged, and we have agreed to part company so I can have my property managed by competent...
