I've rented from Maitland and Rachel for a number of years and would strongly advise everyone to stay away. Greedy, useless and completely rude. They'll also take you for every penny.

I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Maitland Rachel to prospective Landlords as I have found their service over the 7 years I have been with them to be extremely efficient, helpful and reliable. All the tenancies have been handled with professionalism, and the inventories and checking out service were detailed. If there was ever cause for concern anywhere along the line this was immediately flagged up by the company and dealt with appropriately and fairly. Thank you, everyone!

I have been a Landlord of Maitland Rachel's for almost 8 years and have had 4 or 5 sets of tenants during that time. Each time they have let the property swiftly and efficiently. All tenants have been good quality and I am very pleased with their management service, I have in the past recommended them to my colleagues and friends and as far as I'm aware they are pleased with the service too.

Very slack on the initial inventory, excessively strict on the move out (use different company) as per Boggy's review. We ended up loosing 1000 of deposit due to faults that where present when we moved in. We also had the carpets cleaned by Maitland Rachels preferred agent, it transpired that although the agent was aware the carpets should have been fumigate, he didn't do it and as such we had to pay for them to be cleaned again only to be told the carpets where worn out and they needed replacing!!!?. Also some shrubbery in the garden died off and some loose gravel laid on mud had been washed away - needless to say they billed us for this as well.
All I would say is Caveat Emptor... Only use these people if you absolutely have no choice. It could be a very expensive decision. I have never in my time had these problems with moving out of a property before and it seems this outfit have a reputation for these antics!

We hired a professional carpet cleaner to come and clean the carpets, and he stated that carpets could not be cleaned anymore as they were worn and at the end of their life. But because they don't use that company they won't accept his opinion on the state of the carpets and are trying to hold back nearly 1/4 of our deposit! Terrible company...would recommend everyone stays away from them! The sooner that company goes under the better!

Terrible agency. Conveniently could never seem to contact landlord when repairs were needed but were quick enough to contract us when they wanted something! Still trying to get our deposit back now. Rude, ruthless, sneaky and greedy.

I was a tennant with maitland rachel for a number of years. Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed).
