Property links as a business comes across as poorly run and organised. The people are all very nice, polite and courteous however. Communication or lack of has been the biggest problem.
I've worked in customer facing jobs my whole life and know reliablwle communication can make or break a deal. Initially when I viewed the flat it was unoccupied and had had a water leak in the lounge bay window (Victorian property) which I was assured was fixed. I agreed to take the flat on the basis it was redecorated before I moved in. We arranged a date 6 weeks before I wanted to move in. The redecoration was not sorted and I was given no reason as to why. It took them a further 3 months to redecorate. Likewise, as someone else has said the property was filthy. The bathroom was grubby, the extractor hood and kitchen wall tiles sticky and skirting boards dusty. I reported it by phone after I had pucked my keys up and they asked me to send photos and assured me their hired cleaning team had been in to clean. I eventually phoned again at 5pm (having picked the keys up at 10am) to be told I could have a cleaning team come in the next day but I declined as I had one day to move in and boxes and furniture were everywhere. I highlighted it was too little too late.
The communication issue was apparent throughout, where I had problems with the same leak in the roof. The leak was not their fault I admit and they have no control over nature. But I never got through to anyone on their designated out of hours emergency number. Likewise I was never told when it was fixed, what caused it or if they would be arranging redecoration again. I learnt from the neighbour upstairs that pigeons had created a hole causing the leak which had been sorted.
Some important stuff like a faulty smoke detector system, was not sorted despite reporting it 3 times with no action. They did however give reasonable notice each time for an inspection of the flat which I was greatful for.
It all sounds trivial, but it is not a customers job to have to keep chasing their letting agency for repairs and answers. They now have lots more staff and communication from moving out was just as poor. I was emailed incorrect procedures and dates leaving me once again to contact them to confirm the plans. I heard nothing within 3 days of my final inspection so I had to ring again.
Some issues were sorted quickly, major ones such as the leak were not. If I hadn't have liked the flat so much I would have chosen someone else.
Comments on Agent Fees
Fairly expensive but they all appear to be.

For 6 years Matt Simpson from Property link has looked after my property in PL1 ,he first looked after it as my contact then moved to Maintenance and for the last year has been in the estate agents side .

For 6 years Matt Simpson from Property link has looked after my property in PL1 ,he first looked after it as my contact then moved to Maintenance and for the last year has been in the estate agents side . Through out he has always been up front and when contacted always came back to me. Like all land lords there are some good and bad tenants ,when there has been an issue Matt was always there to sort it . I also have to thank the rest of the staff again they have always been positive in dealing with issue .

I have had several agents in Plymouth and Property Links have been way ahead of any one I have dealt with. I totally trust them as they have provided an excellent service and advice of all aspects of letting out my houses. They answer the phones quickly and reply to emails on the same day! I have had almost 100% occupancy with my houses which is an amazing achievement. My houses are regularly checked and I get an automatic update of the house with pictures if needed. And I have also arranged for any minor problems to be fixed automatically. Its nice to know that your houses are in safe hands and that you can sleep easy at night! Keep up the good work Property Links !

At first Property Links were more than helpful, however after paying the rent up front, i was more than disappointed from here on out. I moved into the property - it was FILTHY! Now, i am a student and have lived in some pretty bad places, but i do not expect to be paying that amount of money for rent AND AGENCY FEES!!! to move into a house which most definitely has not been cleaned this side of 2013!! The house lacked basic amenities and the courtyard/garden was messier than the house. We were told that the rubbish that had been left there was going to be cleared by the landlord......3 months later its still there. On multiple occasions staff from Property Links just turned up with prospective tenants WITHOUT ANY NOTICE. This may seem trivial but when this happens on more than one occasion and you have not been notified (despite them trying to tell us we had been) it becomes rather annoying having randoms walk into your bedrooms etc unexpected. When me and my housemate asked one of the staff about why they had failed to inform us (this particular day we were moving out and 2 sets of 3 tenants turned up to look at the house...1st this was less than ideal for us as we were trying to sort the house out and more importantly doesn't exactly help out the agency trying to show round clients in a house that has stuff everywhere). Unfortunately i do not know the name of the member of staff, but when asked why we hadn't been given notice, she was dismissive and INCREDIBLY RUDE! we simply said it would have been nice to know so we could have made the house look nice for them....her reply......WELL AS FAR AS IM AWARE THIS HOUSE IS ALWAYS A MESS. Well firstly id like to know what information she bases this on, because as far as i'm aware the house has ALWAYS been tidier than the state they let us move in to!!! Anyway, moral of the story... DO NOT GO WITH COMPANY THEY ARE AWFUL!!! they will help you out as much as they can at the beginning....you'll think great...pay the rent AND IT GOES DOWNHILL FROM HERE. EXTREMELY RUDE STAFF ONLY AFTER YOUR MONEY AGENCY FESS....INITIALLY DONT TELL YOU ABOUT THESE TURN UP AND LET THEMSELVES IN YOUR HOUSE WHENEVER THEY WANT for your own sanity....DO NOT BE FOOLED!!!

Seemed all very nice at first, easy enough to arrange to rent the property. We were given no direct contact of the landlord and no emergency number for the agents. House was unclean when we moved in with a lot of issues and more arising every week, none of which have been dealt with and we have been in the property for 6 months now. Our main concern is the Electrics, the landlady refuses to get a safety check done and when we informed the council of this and they attempted to check she had all the correct certification she flew off to florida for a month, very suspicious. Do not know why the agents would take on a property in such a state especially if the legal certifications are not up to date, I would not advise anyone to rent with this company.
