Generally quite a poor experience from this lettings agency. They were lovely when it came to looking around the property and putting in an offer but as soon as they'd locked in our money the problems started. They were utterly incompetent when it came to doing all of the paperwork for the tenancy, I spent several days re-sending emails to Elizabeth and phoning her multiple times for her to claim that she hadn't received my emails.
Eventually everything was sorted and we moved in to the property. Upon looking round we were told that the ceiling in the third bedroom needed to be replastered but that this would definitely happen before we moved in. On picking up our keys we were told that it hadn't yet happened but it would be done the next day. This went on for two weeks - in which time we couldn't use the third bedroom to live in or store any stuff, meaning the three house sharers living there had to share two bedrooms! Winkworth were really unprofessional during this time and we felt really let down, Charlotte (who has since left) was really unhelpful, hardly ever answering the phone when we called each day to find out what was going on and seemingly unable to organise for the plastering to be done. Upon extensive complaining we were refunded £100 (we were paying £360 a week and the bedroom was unusable for the first two weeks of the tenancy) but Winkworth claimed they'd offered for us to move in later and we'd refused - we had never received such an offer.
The rest of the tenancy was fairly uneventful, to her credit Kelly did get a few minor maintenance issues sorted out quickly for us. Unfortunately she was always really rude and behaved more like a disgruntled toddler than a professional adult whenever we had to speak to her - for example upon handing in keys at the end of the tenancy. When they were showing prospective tenants around the property on a Saturday morning (they'd notified us and we'd said that this was fine but that it was likely that we'd be in the property) she was really rude when I returned home mid-viewing, asking whether I was planning on being here all morning even though we were being completely accommodating to the visits. Yes, whilst I pay your extortionate rents I will be in the property if I choose.
