Completely awful company lack of customer experience. I rented a house 6 months ago and was told by the Estate Agent that although this was a 6 month tenancy it was a business and would be extended. I moved in and when tenancy came up to the 6 months had letter to say wanted administration fee and the next 6 months money paid up front again. I paid 6 months when I moved in. They knew I was receiving housing benefit from the start. Because I asked a few questions to both Gascoigne Pees and Countrywide Lettings (who didnt seem to talk to each other as I have in writing different stories) first I received a letter to say the Landlord would like to offer me the tenancy again.. then a week later I received a letter to say it was terminated... When I questioned this and said I would pay 6 months upfront yet again..they said no. I then got in writing that they didnt have to give me a reason why they decided to terminate the tenancy but said the Landlord has had a change of heart and wants the property back.. To cut short I have been out the property a week and Gascoigne Pees have put it up for rent again. I have been completely lied to and I find that when I want questions answered both Gascoigne Pees and Countrywide were very slow in responding if at all. I will be making an official complaint as I feel I have been treated unfairly and a lot of stress put on both myself and my children. I use to work for Poulters Estate Agents before it was Gascoigne Pees as a secretary to the Surveyor. If I had spoken or treated a customer they way I have been treated I would have lost my job. Very unprofessional and unhelpful. 6 months money upfront !! You couldnt get a better tenancy than that. I looked after the property. An absolute disgrace!!!
