I'm obviously very disappointed to come across this review, as a representative of Merry's i pride myself on doing the best possible job for all our Vendors and Clients. I do feel slightly aggrieved after visiting your mother's home more than once, giving you excellent advice on how to increase the value of the property, advice that you took and has now increased the value of the property by over £20k. I also worked out of hours on these appointments and I supplied you my personal phone number so out of hours contact could continue which is above and beyond normal estate agency. Throughout a period of a month you decided that you would renovate your mother's home in order to achieve a higher price, (this was needed in order to purchase our vendors property) The VENDORS not Merry's agreed to give you two weeks grace which you asked them for were viewings would not take place. After the two weeks the vendors of Wake Way would continue viewings and that the property wouldn't be taken off the market. I do agree that a DEPENDENT OFFER under the asking price by yourselves was accepted by our vendors subject to selling your mother's property! This is standard procedure up and down the country by all Estate Agents.
Regarding the sale of Wake Way we received interest on the property from another couple which I rang you about this was the day before taking my personal holiday to Spain. At this point your mother's house was still NOT on the market....
I take fully responsibility for the next part as i did promise to call you should there be further developments with the interested couple, foolishly i had at the time forgot i was travelling on holiday the next day and while away my colleagues and vendors agreed on a full asking price offer which i was obviously unaware of.
Paul I hope this some what clears a few misunderstandings up, I would like to offer my apologies if you felt that you were mis-informed and that your mother missed out on the property.
Estate Agents are instructed and paid by our vendors and it's important that we give our vendors the best advice to secure them the highest price but it's equally important to Merry's that every single client we speak to is kept up todate with clear information, something that in your review I/we clearly have not. I would like to again take this opportunity to apologise and should you wish to market your mother's home in the future I would personally like to offer you a large reduction in your selling fees.
