Our experience with Hills Residential is a story of two halves. The first half being the initial consultation through to the offer being agreed. We were so impressed with them at this stage. The photos were brilliant, they were polite, helpful and always returned our calls. They worked hard and got our offer accepted within two weeks (actually the offer was accepted in one but there was lots of other viewings booked in and further offers made). The second half of the transaction was unfortunately not as slick, and it is a shame to say that. From the point where the offer was accepted and the solicitors instructed it was like we were dealing with a different agent altogether. They did not get involved in the progression of the transaction with the solicitors, they didn't call us and if I needed their assistance then I had to chase them. It seemed like they didn't know the process with the solicitors and what their role was to try and push things along. As it happened, our title turned out to be quite complicated and we could have used their help to go between the solicitors as communication had broken down between the two firms at times. Fortunately my buyer was on the ball and between us we managed to progress the transaction through, I'm so glad we had swapped numbers. I don't think Hills should say they offer aftersales progression when they don't really. As it happens, Hills have still not been in touch to say congratulations that we have exchanged and completed. If it wasn't for the cheque arriving with them they may not have found out. It's a shame, because their service until the solicitors were instructed had been great!!
Comment on agent fees
I thought the fees were reasonable for the service, until we got to the aftersales point. I thought part of the price we were paying was for aftersales progression and it was quite poor. The advertising and offer agreed stage of the transaction though were great and fees for this area were justified.

I wish to apologise that the service once the sale was agreed did not meet up to your expectation and whilst I realise I cannot undo your experiences I will personally address your feedback to ensure that we re-visit these issues and minimise the risk of them re-occurring.
On the other hand, I am delighted to learn that you were impressed with the photos, the team and the interest they managed to generate in your home.
Once again, thank you for bringing this to my attention
Yours sincerely
