I purchased a flat through C James in 2004 and for some years rented it through them too. I had no hesitation when selling the flat to ask them to handle the sale. Bob Mash was the key contact and he went above and beyond in helping me get it over the line. He was always available (even on days off) to talk through issues, was helpful and responsive to my issues and equally helpful and responsive to the purchasers's needs too. He helped the whole process go through very smoothly and I can honestly say, having bought and sold properties throughout may life (I am 67 now), that Bob was exceptional in his service. Always cheerful, helpful and efficient I can't recommend his firm more highly.

My five-star rating is based on 14 years' experience as a customer of the Colliers Wood branch of C.James & Co.
In that time I have found the agency and in particular the two staff members highlighted, with whom I have had the most contact, to be both professional and helpful. The agency is proactive when necessary (e.g. advising me of my landlord's obligation to acquire an energy certificate for my property), and is always happy to engage with me whenever an issue requires discussion or clarification.

The management fee always seems high for what work is generally required but I have no idea how much is pre-handled and I am paying for the service being constantly available. In any event, living hundreds of miles away I have very little choice and the fee is tax deductible and offset against the high occupancy.

I doubt that any letting agent gets everything right but overall the occupancy speaks for itself and I'm sure I could have done a lot worse elsewhere. Mark and other staff have kept me informed on any issues and discussed options for solutions when necessary.

We have employed the services of C. James & Co of Colliers Wood for the past 15 years - through the purchase and then subsequent letting of our property. we have been very satisfied with their service.
The staff are helpful, take initiatives and communicate well.
They are proactive with warnings of tenants intentions and so we have not had long periods without tenants. We would recommend them.

Before instructing Phil to handle my rental property for me I contacted a number of other agents in the area and Phil had all the right answers to my questions. I was happy to leave my property in his capable hands when I went abroad to work, with him making decisions on what the property needed on my behalf. I am now back in the UK but still rely on Phil to manage the property.
I feel it is important to have one person at the firm with overall management. There have only been problems when I have had to deal with someone else. Should Phil ever leave C James and Co I would ask him to continue to manage my property for me.

Excellent relationship with C James team dealing particularly with both Bob Mash in sales and Phil Burgess in rentals. Bob has recently sold two properties for me that I had rented out through Phil Burgess in Colliers Wood for over 8 years. They have both without exception always acted in a very professional manner. They deal with matters promptly and basically do what they say they are going to do, when they say they are going to do it.This in my experience, is a rare thing. As a landlord living outside of London this relationship has been invaluable.I would, without hesitation recommend this Agent for both sales and lettings.
