What actually happened was rather different to what has been described by the prospective tenant(s). Phil and a friend were proposing to rent an apartment in Maidenhead and as such both needed to complete reference applications as you would normally do for any rental property. Phil's friend failed the reference on the grounds of a very poor credit history and as such the reference for him was duly declined by an independent reference company. What agent could do to change your mind?
Once the agent realised that I was moving back into the property they basically lost interest in it. Their negligence has cost me money and their refusal to cover my costs for work/items for which they were responsible means that I regard them as a very unprofessional organisation. All they needed to do was to admit they were in the wrong and pay for the work/missing items and everything would have been fine.
