Scandalous. £120 'rush fee' to get you in a property within 2 weeks. £165+VAT to make one amend to the contract. Maintenance quotes that are nearly double the market rate. My landlady and I now work directly to do any maintenance as his service has been so bad and a rip off. We have compared quotes and had work done for nearly half the price. And yet she's still paying him £200 a month when she's effectively managing it herself now.

Helpful review that resonates with my experience with this man and his company. Reading through his defensive replies not once does he take responsibility for his actions and it always seems his clients are to blame or in the wrong. Even sinking to the depths of a vicious tirade. This is the response and approach of a trusworthy, friendly professional? That alone should speaks volumes. Properties are taken on a first come first served basis and they obviously have to be suitable tenants that would pass the reference process, have the "Right to Rent in the UK", be the sort of tenants that the Landlord would be happy with and have no pets and do not smoke. Just because somebody wants a property it does not mean they meet the above criteria and as such we have to make a decision who is most suitable for the owner. I'm much happier with the agreed fees this time round as oppose to last time, where I was charged in addition to the agreed % on the rental for paperwork and services which I was not aware of at the time of agreeing to let the agent rent my property and assumed they were part of the fees already agreed.

You obviously have the wrong company as we have no one under the name of David Ashton working at Whirlybird Property and no one has ever heard of that name. We have got 83% of customers that are very happy, so you obviously have the wrong agency as no one recognises any of the details. The staff at Whirlybird Property have won numerous gold, silver and bronze awards for good customer service in 2015. Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed).
