What agent could do to change your mind?
Notwithstanding improving response to clients' problems and issues, simple basic courtesy and pleasant attitude would go a long way in improving the service of this firm.

I believe that these letting agents (as with so many other agents), unscrupulously take advantage of tenants by the excessive costs of their fees for credit checking.

Respond to calls. Process applications at a reasonable speed. Be honest at the start about fees and costs.

I seem to be having a similar experience as Helen. Staff are very slack and yes they lost my application fee too! but miraculously they found it this morning! I still have not got as far as signing the contract yet, its just dragging on..... ...

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
