I had a dispute with my tenant where they decorated the bathroom without my permission, broke the towel rail and damaged an electrical box The redecoration was done with ordinary paint and not bathroom paint and the extractor fan was completely blocked with fluff and dust they complained that the bathroom was getting mouldy. I offered to change the fan for a stronger one but they refused to allow me to go in to do this.Therefore the bathroom needed to be redecorated before the new tenants moved in. I claimed ?200.00 for the redecoration and the repair to the electrical socket and purchase of a new towel rail these items were not even taken into consideration, I was not awarded anything. Even though the tenants refused to allow future tenants to view before they moved out which also cost me a months rent..I also discovered that they had damaged the oven when they had cleaned it which I had not claimed for. The tenants costs me in the region of ?1000.00 in total. I should have at least been awarded the cost of the parts that had to be changed.
