A market is held twice a week, selling antiques, musical instruments, second-hand books, hand made clothing and local organic products. In short, not for nothing was Totnes voted the capital of New Age chic by Time magazine.
Proud to support local retailers, it is a fascinating town with over 40 independent coffee shop & baristas to enjoy. It has many distinctive features such as the Eastgate, an arch spanning the main street, Totnes Castle, a Norman edifice owned by English Heritage, the late medieval Church of St Mary and the Elizabethan House Museum, one of many authentic Elizabethan merchant's houses.
