We rented with direct lettings for 4.5 years and had an excellent experience. Upon reporting faults, repairs were completed within the week. Any disputes were handled fairly and professionally. Fantastic service from Direct Lettings. My flat was placed on the market quickly and since it was taken on there's never been any issues through DL. They take the hassle away for tenants looking to let out property. Would definitely recommend using them....

Dear Tina, I am sorry that you have not had a positive experience with our agency. Agencies no longer charge tenancies agency fees (this has been the case for several years in Scotland now) and therefore like many other agencies either ask a prospective tenant to gather the required references or use a recommended 3rd party to do this on their behalf. DL Scotland allow 72hours to gather the required references however if a prospective tenant advises in the interim that they cannot meet requi ...

This agency did not keep inventories resulting in tenants walking off with furnishings etc. They don't ensure that your property is kept clean although this is a condition of a Scottish tenancy....

What agent could do to change your mind?
1) Sent reports of inspections. 2) Answered emails. 3) Responded to phone calls and messages promptly. 4) Not spend any money on maintenance without making contact - our usual protocol.

We dealt with both agents in the Forfar Office & they left us with a house packed, a large mover's bill and nowhere to move. The company do not do their Due Diligence to confirm the houses they have on offer to rent, are legally able to be rented. My only recommendation is: if you have a choice, go with someone else. ...

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
