Barton-Kendal offered a discount on their normal rate of 1.5%. We investigated all the cheaper options available to us, but decided that we preferred to pay for a high street agent, as we thought they offered the most comprehensive service, and offered our best chance of receiving a better price. In general, the practise of charging a percentage of the selling price, doesn't make sense. if you have a higher valued house, you will pay a higher fee for the same service as someone with a lower valued house.
