We are always sorry for anyone to have a negative experience, but unfortunately there are occasions where appointments do get missed due to other appointments overrunning. I don't believe we were at all arrogant in our communications with this buyer and I emailed him with an apology for missing the appointment, at the earliest opportunity. see below. In response to this post, our referencing team conducted very thorough checks and advised that this particular tenant would need to be paid in advance to protect our clients best interests. We advised our client (the landlord) of the situation and he decided to withdraw from the tenancy which he was fully entitled to do as no agreement had been signed and we were still at referencing stage.
