If your complaint to the managing director gets you no joy, try the Property Ombudsman: www.tpos.co.uk. It's an industry regulatory body and it needs to know what is being done by agents that have signed up to its code of practice (which Townends has). ...

I really would recommend contacting the Property Ombudsman (www.tpos.co.uk) about Townends. I did, and (eventually) was awarded significant compensation. It took months, and lots of form-filling, but it was worth it - less for the compensation than the fact that the Ombudsman is surely going to have to do something about these con-artists if they keep receiving complaints about them. ...

No fees information available
Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed).
