We went to hamptons after riding a motorcycle around the world. We are well funded professionals who where looking to rent as we wanted to set up our own business now we where back in the UK. At the beginning the sales team seemed great, we had some very specific questions including - Is there safe motorcycle parking for motorcycles (we had 2 high value bikes) and if we got a dog was it allowed. We looked at the property and i asked if the parking area was secure and if they had had any thefts of motorbikes, she said she would find out and called back to say nothing had ever been stolen and there was CCTV etc etc. We also said we where thinking about getting a dog again and where told this was not a problem. After about 2 months i was chatting with the friendly security guard who casually informed me someone had tried to steal one of my bikes and when i asked about it he mentioned that they had been stolen from there before and some cameras didn't work. I then asked to drill ground anchors and was refused with some waffling excuse. The agent could not remember telling me how safe it was at all apparently i dreamed the whole thing. About 7 months in a neighbour complained about my puppy, something trivial, This opened a whole can of worms as it turned out we where not allowed a dog. Despite us asking at the VERY beginning, and it even stating in our agreement - permission cannot be with held without reason (or similar) and so we had to move out. We where furious, our oh so helpful sales person was nowhere to be seen again and her memory worse than a 80 year old alzheimer's patient. As if all this wasn't enough we moved out. when we moved i got a professional company in to clean the place, paint and fill any marks etc etc. I used to look after properties for a private landlord and so knew what standard it needed to be. It was far better when i left than before i moved in. Then they came to us and said it needed cleaning, painting, fumigating etc etc. I was shocked. The bill was over £1400!!!! We luckily took photos and kept receipts. Now this is the bit that makes this so wrong. I had to pay the deposit on the new place! Lucky i have the money, but what happens to those who don't have enough cash??? In the end we went to the DPS and they reviewed the case and reward them a staggering £2.99 for a light bulb!! Avoid these guys at all costs!! Our new agent is 10 times better and more helpful! Hamptons are rip off artists!!! NEVER NEVER AGAIN

Selling property nowadays is not necessarily that easy. We were selling a two bed flat and thought it should be fairly simple! We have finally sold our property after ten months but mainly due to our purchasers losing their buyer three times. We did have initial annoying issues with... Read Full Review

We have just rented a flat so that we can have the building works undertaken on our house. we contacted all of the local agents in Chiswick and had mixed experiences ranging from very poor to reasonable. The one exception, was Raymond Ekhator of Hamptons International, who was prompt, polite and... Read Full Review

We were buying a property through this agent, we had our offer accepted, we were assured no more viewings would take place on the property, we received the memorandum of sale with no mention it would be continued to be marketed. Four days later we received a phone call from them to say they had... Read Full Review

I found Hamptons to be excellent. I interviewed four local agents before choosing Hamptons and am glad I made the right choice. My opinion, and experience during the sale, were that Luke and his colleagues Adrian and Alex were friendly, absolutely professional, gave me excellent advice on... Read Full Review

Very disappointing service. The Sales team, especially the Manager promised the candidate they were putting forward to puchase our property was fully versed on what our lease and co freehold property details entailed. They were given a copy of our lease and co-freehold shares. Hamptons informed... Read Full Review
Listened fully to our requests as the vendor at the start of the process. Don\'t lie.
