We had a nightmarish experience looking to rent a flat through Hamptons Islington. Avoid at all costs! We came to London from Canada to look for a flat. We have a small dog, which makes it extra difficult. At first the agent (Nadine) seemed extremely helpful. We signed a lease and thought our search was over. Then, at the last minute, right before we were set to go back to Canada (with the intention to move permanently a month later) Nadine called to say that the landlady was backing out because she had forgotten to look at her head lease, and when she did she saw that it prohibited dogs. While maybe this is the landlady's fault, the agent failed to do her due diligence in researching the various aspects of the property that were relevant to our needs. We later found out that some of the other properties she had shown us (promising us they were dog friendly) in fact didn't accept dogs either. When I emailed her about other properties afterwards (now desperate), she did not return my email. Nadine's lack of professionalism and competence cost us a great deal of money and caused a tremendous amount of stress. Find another agency!

To be fair to the agent, their due diligence is no more than asking their clients for facts. It doesn't include making their clients prove them to. It's an act of trust!

We had a very similar issue, only we we moved into the property and then where asked to "leave" as we had a dog. Then they tried to say we had left the place in a mess and it needed clean etc etc. We went to the DPS as we had a company professionally clean and paint after we moved out and they tried to take more than £1700 off us but in the end where reward £2.99 for a lightbulb which didn't work. Thieves!

This review concerns Hamptons Islington lettings. We were 6 months shy of the end of a two-year contract for a 2bed/2bath in Angel. We made the huge mistake of writing to Hamptons to let them know that we wanted to request a 12-month extension to our lease. Having been model tenants (we paid rent... Read Full Review

As a tenant having hamptons manage our property has been an ideal. We were left without a working shower and a leak in our ceiling for two months and were frequently ignored and passed around when we asked for these issues to be resolved. Terrible management and have put me off using hamptons... Read Full Review

As an estate agent you would think Hamptons would understand better than anyone the stress and work that renters go through at the beginning and end of their tenancy agreement.... Not Hamptons! When I moved into my property the flat was filled with broken pots smashed picture frames, dirty... Read Full Review
