This agency, or more specifically, this young agent *, did everything to make my first living experience in London as bad as possible. While renting a room from abroad, we wanted to have a close friend to visit the object before moving in. After having seen a flat that is in the same block, but not the flat we were going to rent, the agent still started to claim. that we have already visited the flat. After asking for another visit for this flat, he built a big story around it, saying that he can remember how he was struggling with the keys and how our friend talked to the current tenants. A big lie just to avoid seein the mess and dirt in the flat we wanted to rent. Furthermore, this guy was pushing strongly towards signing the contract and payment. Although the landlord selected us as prospective tenants, he forced us to sign and pay (within a couple of hours), without having seen the flat, otherwise another party would get the flat. Although the rental contact is very strict and extremely landlord-centric, it says that the room needs to be cleaned before the rental period and that we receive additional furniture. Although we moved in 3 days after the start of the rental period, the room was not cleaned, messy, and the furniture was missing. we asked ** 3 times in advance to make sure everything is ready when we moved in. He lied at us again, saying OF COURSE, everything will be prepared. To conclude, this agency is doing everything in order ro sign the contract and earn commission. They are putting pressure on you, make you feel bad with ficitve deadlines in order to pay 6 months of rent in advance + a huge deposit of 10 weeks rent. The agent is lying all the time, and breaching the contract in several ways. Please, avoid foxtons and have a look for an agency, that cares about both tenants and their business clients.
