I instructed Hamptons because of Ruth Fletcher - things changed when she retired in July. When I dis-instructed them at the beginning of October, I was told I had had 39 viewings. I doubt this figure but if it is correct many were done without my knowledge and I have never received feedback from this number of people. In fact, I have always had to chase up any feedback. I only had one offer since June which fell through at the last moment due to the buyers not being given full property information that Hamptons were aware of. When I asked the manager for suggestions on what was needed to get a sale I received no help. I wanted to drop the price - he argued against this plus didn't want to advertise the property as 3 bedroom with the third currently being used as a study. His rudeness and lack of customer service - verging on contempt for his client - made me dis-instruct at a time when I have just had a stroke and desperately need to sell the property. They are holding me to a 28 day notice period - when they should be embarrassed by their lack of success.
Richard Day could have been less aggressive and rude and just done his job in order to secure a sale. The others in the office had always been friendly if somewhat distracted at times. I needed my estate agents to work for their client and help me at this very stressful time. They chose not to.

Oct 13, 2014There are always two sides to any situation, but from our part we accept that Hamptons would not describe the property as a 3 bedroom property, as it was deemed that we would be mis-describing the property's accommodation as one bedroom was downstairs leading from the kitchen, furthermore I accept I did advise the client not to reduce the Guide Price, as the viewing numbers were consistent and we are not in the habit of forcing prices down.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
