Homelets of Bath have been a complete and utter nightmare. The staff are rude, unfriendly and lazy.
When we came to them with any problem I very much doubt they listened to a word we were saying, there was a problem with the boiler in the property where there was a lose connection where the upstairs heating came on with the hot water. This meant it was impossible to have a hot shower without the heating on which was a huge waste of money.
Many of the furnishings were in poor condition (e.g. the bottoms of the draws had fallen through) and when we asked the agents about repair they simply stated nothing could be done.
We had problems with a leaky shower that left yellow goo all over the cord and a radiator down stairs which would spew out green gunk. We asked home lets to send someone to help which they did, but the man they sent simply looked at the problem, tinkered a little and left - the problem was left unsolved.
There was mould in the bathroom, as a result of which we followed all the instructions given by the council which involved wiping the walls down. When we did so it removed the paint to reveal more mould, the mould was there already and had simply been painted over. The estate agents provided no help, only to suggest we follow the council guidelines we had already followed.
When dealing with these people write it in as simple words as possible . . . they may then answer the questions you have or at least acknowledge you are a human being that wants a living environment that makes them happy rather than an experience that makes you want to break down in tears.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Given more help, and actually replied to all the questions posed in emails. We often felt ignored, and didn't feel the agent even actually read through our emails properly. We felt agents looked down on us because we're students - which is very unfair. Just because we're young people that does not mean we should be treated as children or any less. We pay administration fees like anyone else and therefore should get the same help anyone else would receive.
