Totally incompetent and the worst customer service I've ever encountered!
I'm not normally the sort of person who feels the need to write reviews of company's I've had experiences with but I'm afraid on this occasion I'd feel guilty not letting prospective tenants / landlords know what they could be getting into if they started dealing with Martin and Co.
By far the worst firm (not letting agent - but worst firm in general) I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with!
They never answer the phone - even just to get a viewing on a rental property I was interested in and to give Martin and Co the business took me 9 phone calls to their office and 5 messages left on their answer machine - none of which I ever received a response to.
After moving in, there were a couple of items on the itinerary which Martin and Co said they would send people out to rectify within the next few weeks - I rented the property for 2 years and despite trying to contact them to chase, nothing ever happened.
Generally, Martin and co would send me a letter around 6 weeks before the end of the lease period to ask whether I was thinking of extending or moving out. One time however, I received a letter 2 days before the lease expiry date, telling me that the rent was going up by 10%!
During one of the 6 moth lease periods, Martin and Co never actually sent me a contract, but then phoned me about 4 months in and basically told me off for not having one - they then said that a contract was on its way to me and that it was imperative tat I sign and return asap - needless to say, no contract ever arrived.
To top this experience off, after moving out of the rented property, it took Martin and Co 5 weeks to release my deposit money - not because there was any dispute over the fact that I was due the entire sum back in full, but because they forgot about it despite me calling to remind them.
If you're thinking of dealing with Martin and Co - do yourself a favour and go elsewhere!!
