The service i received went downhill from day 1. I viewed the property first time round with *. I made it clear after viewing the property that if certain work was done, i would be happy to make an application. This was confirmed with the landlord, and i was told this would go ahead - therefore i made an application. After paying just over ‚£400 in application fees, i asked to view the property once all work had been completed before signing a tenancy agreement. On the day i was due to MOVE IN, i was told the property was not ready, but would be ready for me to view the next day. I met * at the property for my second viewing, SB arrived and the first thing she said to me was that she was 'so hung over, she couldn't cope', instantly this set a bad impression. I then went inside to view the work that had supposedly been done - the flat was filthy floor to ceiling, bugs in the bath, cracks in the window panes, hob plates missing from cooker, 'hot' & 'cold' symbols missing from taps, absolutely disgusting. As soon as i started to query these issues * only responded with 'i don't know', whilst looking disinterested and fed up. I then asked in the nicest way possible, why i had been sent someone who knew nothing about the property/claimed not to deal with any of these issues, she then told me she did not have to listen to this - I ended the conversation there and left the property. I called the office and asked to speak to the manager, * had answered and tried to claim that she was management. I later spoke to the actual manager, who confirmed that *explained to the real manager that I had signed my application under false pretences, and had received such shocking service that I did not wish to sign a 12 month lease with a company who caused me nothing but inconvenience before I had even moved in. I also made her aware that * had told me she was too hung over to cope, and had claimed to be management ƒÆ’¢ƒÂ¢¢â‚¬Å¡¬ƒÂ¢¢â€šÂ¬…“ the manager confirmed * was not management, but didn't seem phased that she had lied to a potential tenant. I asked that my application fees be refunded as they had not kept their end of the contract, and that if this was not the case I would be taking it to a small claims court. I was later sent a cheque for ‚£30. This is insulting I lost over ‚£400 to * poor service, lack of knowledge, and sheer cheek. As young person, It took me months to save that money in order to move into a new place.
I do not recommend this agent to anyone, especially if you don't have money to throw down the pan. Just be aware that if you end up dealing with * you're probably going to get messed around, lied to, and pay money for a service that you won't receive.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Refund me the ‚£400 that i paid, as the agent didnt keep their end of the contract.
