I would like to start my review my saying that I am not a prospective customer. My wife and I are looking to purchase a house, not sell one and as such will not be the customer of any agent as we will not be giving them any money. That said the agents sell a service to their customers, the vendor, which includes dealing with prospective buyers in a professional manner.
My wife and I saw an open house advertised on Rightmove and went to the property at the arranged time. There was no one at the property. We waited fifteen minutes, I called Bairstow Eves four times using the Rightmove number and the office number. There was no answer at anytime and we came to the conclusion that at 1.00 PM on a Saturday the branch must be closed. This totally wasted an hour and fifteen minutes of our day as the agent falsely advertised the open house, falsely advertised the times that staff are available in the office. This lack of honesty manifested in not doing what they had said IN WRITING they would do shows a remarkable lack of professionalism and utter disrespect for their customers who trust them to sell their properties.
Bairstow Eves have a responsibility to obtain the best price possible in the market at that time. If they refuse to honour arranged open houses, how can they claim yo have done this?
I hope that in the future no Vendors, of houses we like, are foolish enough to instruct Bairstow Eves because we would think twice about having any interaction with them at all.
