We rented a house from Fulfords and will never touch them again with a barge pole. The fees were massive, the details of fees kept changing so that we had to make sure everything was confirmed in writing by email. We needed things fixing in the property and it took 5 months for any response, despite repeated requests. Then when the contract date was up, despite previously agreeing that we would go on a month-by-month rolling contract, we received a passive-aggressive letter 'delighted to offer us' a further 12 months contract for the privilege of another huge fee, or otherwise to get out. We tried calling and calling to negotiate (talking to various people at Fulfords and Countrywide who never spoke to each other) and finally decided to leave and go to live somewhere else. Apparently the landlords were really upset, I bet they never understood how poorly Fulfords had acted on their behalf.

Your comments have been some what blown out of proportion. We as a company do not control the deposit it is protected by a government approved scheme and therefore must be held until both landlord and tenant agree upon it's release. There is normally a very good reason why the deposit is held and i don't feel your comments are fair or accurate. ...

Your comments couldn't be further from the truth. As a company we must have both landlord and tenant in agreement before a deposit can be processed. Property management were doing their jobs albeit not to your liking. An important note is that all monies are held in my deposits, this is the law! ...
