I recently viewed a property with James Old (who clearly has a rod stuck somewhere), he seemed well informed and competent in his role. However, don't be fooled by first impressions. I had various concerns which I mentioned on viewing, like the dripping tap and stained sink, the grubby sofa and carpets, the marks on the walls and the smell. James (the rod) informed me the Landlord would be more than happy to clean and/or remove items in order to gain a tenant and true to James (the rod) word, the various issues were dealt with, although through a lot of input from myself speaking with the Landlord directly, James (the rod) never calls me back, in fact James (the rod) does very little to earn his commission, he talks the talk and that's it. I left endless messages with his team (wide boys), the receptionist (dopey), his Director (Mr hurry up I'm busy) anyone really who would answer the phone at Atlantis, only to be ignored, why have voicemails or so called staff to take messages, if you are not going to reply, phone calls cost money.
Eventually my details were passed to Lorraine (always happy), who talked me through the process of moving in, again issues were raised and a promise from Lorraine (always happy) to call me back! Again no call back, so I called Lorraine (always happy), to get an update, only to find she has left Atlantis, clearly not that happy! Here we go again. I was then passed to Nicole Alder (I'm very important shuffling paper), who like James (the rod) seemed competent at first, but she was clearly confused in the role and from what I can surmise had been thrown in at the deep end, to cover until a new sucker (sorry employee) could be found. After what seemed like a lifetime my move to that property never went through in the end, I got totally fed up with the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing attitude, the constant change of staff, the lies, the we have lost the paperwork, the you have not returned the paperwork, the Landlord has lost the paperwork, the list is endless, they are only interested in money money money, I did a deal with the Landlord privately in the end. James Old (the rod) is only interested in his commission and will lie to get it, Nicole Alder (I'm very important shuffling paper) clearly has no understanding of what she is doing and Lorraine (always happy) good luck to you, wherever you may be.
After speaking with the Landlord he informed me of this site and suggested I leave a comment, he is concerned for the future of his other properties and the incompetence of Atlantis staff and the exiting of Andrew Strong their CEO (Mr lucky escape).
I have noticed new comments left on this site by Tina Watkin their new MD (what the hell have I got myself into). Ms Watkin (what the hell have I got myself into) congratulations on your move to the top, I wish you all the luck in the world with trying to sort out, the motley crew you have been dumped with (sorry acquired), a word of advice, you should do as your predecessor has done and throw in the towel. And Jack Griffiths (too good to be really true), stop leaving yourself reviews on this site, if you are clearly that good at your job you would not be working for Atlantis YOU DON'T FIT IN.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Maybe look to see how other agents are getting it right.
Ms Watkin (what the hell have I got myself into) will probably copy and paste the usual reply, but unfortunately that only works when you have competent and worthy employees who are committed. Atlantis clearly don't! A copy and paste reply is not needed.
