I had a terrible experience with Martin & Co. The member of staff named David was very unprofessional. My partner called on Monday the 07/04 to arrange a viewing for half past 5. Only to find out once we arrived at the property he had also arranged for another couple to view the house alongside us,who only called that afternoon & he squeezed them into our viewing. It was an very ackward & uncomfortable. It turned out David knew the people he had given out app too. We ended up standing outside in the garage to ask our questions about the property. Which david told us he would decide who got the property, however it would whoever called at half past 8 the next morning,asked for him & put down holding fee would get the house. My father then called at 8 onwards & got through to a women in the office who said David was not in yet but the other couple already got the house. David had already agreed with the couple they could have the property. I was disgusted with the service I received, I had already been told unpleasant stories about their reputation & their agent definitely proved them correct. I would never rent a house with their company!

This firm has been caught falsifying bank statements, making up property repairs invoices and overcharging unsusceptible landlords. Apparently the overcharging is rife in the franchise. Hi Tina. Very disappointed to hear that you were not happy with the service provided. I see that you left another bad review for us in Jan 2019 and another one today. I cannot find your details on our system so if you would please let me know whether you were a tenant or a landlord and what property your complaint relates to with I can look into your complaint further. Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.

Complaints Procedure

At Martin & Co, our customers are important to us, and we believe you have the right to a fair, swift and courteous service at all times.

We aim to deal with your concerns promptly, effectively and in a positive manner.

If you have a complaint about the service that you have received from the Martin & Co local office* you should put your concerns in writing to the address noted below. The correspondence will be acknowledged within 3 working days. The matter will then be investigated and a full response sent to you within 15 working days.

If you feel the matter remains unresolved you need to address your complaint to the Proprietor at the address below, who will conduct an investigation and respond with a final viewpoint.
In the unlikely event that you remain dissatisfied then you may refer the matter to The Property Ombudsman (TPO) at the following address:
