I can't stress how supportive Seb and Gurmail from Townends in Streatham were during the course of our sale.
From the very first moment of meeting Seb, he totally understood what we were looking for. He was honest about what he thought about the properties we were seeing and only showed or suggested ones that he thought we might actually consider buying. In comparison with a lot of other estate agents we dealt with (there were a lot, we saw over 40 properties), this was a breath of fresh air. Instead of feeling like just another buyer pushed in and out of yet another London property, we actually felt like there was some consideration for making the biggest purchase of our lives.
Once we had our offer accepted, Seb introduced us to Gurmail from dot financial who works within Townends. We did read that it's sometimes advised not to do this but in actual fact, I don't think we could have made a better decision. Gurmail took as much care as Seb. He took the time to explain all the financial decisions we needed to consider so we could make an informed decision and we weren't pressured in to taking up items we didn't need or couldn't afford.
The purchase process wasn't smooth, there were difficulties that arose that no one expected but we were supported throughout by both Seb and Gurmail who were always on the end of the phone or email, happy to help with anything we needed ¢â‚¬â€œ even prompting us so we didn't miss anything.
I have to note that even phoning up to speak to anyone else in the Townends office, was always a pleasure, I really feel like they have a great team.
A lot of friends have spoken about their house buying nightmares and the ¢â‚¬Ëœterrible' estate agents or ¢â‚¬Ëœfinancial advisors' they had to deal with but this wasn't our experience at all. We did have our nightmares but they were lessened and we were helped through them with Seb and Gurmail.
If anyone is buying a house if Streatham, the guys at Townends are the people to speak to (especially these guys in particular!). I honestly feel like our house-buying journey couldn't have happened without them.

My friend was offered a deal of 6% on the fees and he was very happy with this deal because it made the service (let only) more affordable for him as he ahs a huge mortgage. He hopes that he will be able to get a similar deal in future if the property becomes vacant after the current letting.
