The property had been let to a group of builders who were very hard on the bathroom fittings. The landlord wanted these items to be replaced however under legal guidelines governing how deposits are held, we could not authorise this work. The vendor would not take our apologies and wanted us to pay for this work which we were neither legally or morally responsible for. Sometimes there is no way forward in this situation, I am sorry that the landlord felt let down.
