We've been renting with Bridgfords (previously LS1) for two years. They have not fixed things which were listed on the inventory form as to be fixed since we have moved in, despite us asking several times. We have ended up fixing some ourselves and leaving the rest. It took them 2 weeks to fix a broken washing machine handle, leaving us without a working one for the entire time. We have enquired several times about things needing fixing and they either don't respond or bounce emails between the people claiming someone else is responsible for maintenance.
Last December we were unable to attend the flat inspection due to work. They then claimed they were unable to access the flat and sent us a letter saying that we will be fined £24 if we don't attend it next time. I took half a day off for the inspection only to find out that the guy could access the flat just fine with a working key! He took a list of things requiring repair (same things since our move in), none was fixed.
Now I am moving over to a different agency and Bridgfords want me to pay £24 for releasing the references!!!
I can just see never getting my deposit back, for any silly reason.
DO NOT RECOMMEND.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Actually do their job and stop demanding money for every single service they provide.
