Where do I start? Jon promised the world and DID NOT DELIVER ON ONE SINGLE THING!!! The property had gym access advertised. Jon had no idea about this, said he would find out and never did, despite me ringing him and persuing this information. He gave us incorrect move in dates initially. Then told of the different dates (which were mid-week) when I rung him to find out about the gym info. He didn't even ring me to tell me he had the dates wrong. I then asked if we could move in the following weekend (about 3x days later than proposed) Jon said he would ask for us, then confirm. The next weekend move in date was confirmed by Jon. All good. Then the tenancy agreement arrives with the incorrect date in our mind. We ring Jon, he has no idea what is going on, couldn't even remember who we were and told me to ring head office as he couldn't help. Head office asked why we were being difficult with the move in date? I explained the situation above to head office. Head office agreed with myself that we were not being difficult and had only asked the question once. I at this time asked for the owners number to sort this out myself (if you want something done properly then do it yourself) they would not give it to me. Head office then spoke to the owner on our behalf who also had no knowledge about possible change move in date. We then had to settle for a mid-week move in. I am a contractor which meant a day less pay all because Jon is UNABLE TO COMMUNICATE! Not to forget that he blatantly lied to us to begin with!!! On move-in day we were meant to receive an entry report which our owners had previously emailed to Townends. Townends' branch and head office had no idea about an entry report at all. We asked which parking space was allocated to us at the property. Jon and the team had no idea. I asked for the phone number of the owner and Townends gave up and handed me the owners number. I spoke with the owner re: parking space, gym access and entry report. The owner said it was Townends responsibility to email the entry report and would not personally email it to us. This I understand as she too, is paying Townends for their 'service'. After two weeks of phoning and emailing both the branch and head office with no result. The owner gave in and emailed the entry report to us herself.
In summary, I have both bought and rented for 10 years here and overseas and Townends has to be the absolute worst Agency I have ever dealt with!!! The incompetence of this real estate is beyond belief! Thank the Lord they are not dealing with actual human lives!!!
