Well where to start!?! We saw the property on Rightmove and phoned about making a viewing appointment. The agent said that nobody was available till Wednesday (it was Saturday) but the current tenants would be able to show us around. I did think was strange but went with it, the lady tenant was actually better than any agent I've had dealings with! We both really liked the property and decided to go for it. But trying to get anyone on the phone seemed impossible, so we sent an e-mail and heard nothing that day. Then first thing the next day we get a phone call from the agent and arrange for him to email us the relevant forms. We are then asked to scan the forms in and send them back via e-mail. I wasn't too thrilled at having to do this seeing as though the form included financial information. I would have thought bringing them to the office would be better, especially as we hadn't met anyone from the agency yet. We were then asked to transfer the money for the credit checks (as they didn't have a card machine!) A few days pass and then receive another call and all of a sudden the owner of the agency wants to meet us, so we arrange a meeting in a couple of days, then get another call a few minutes later asking if it would be ok to visit us at home. I didn't think was very professional and thought it was a little strange but agreed to this. So we finally meet him, he says they haven't received our paperwork, so we hand him the originals. He then flicks through them for a minute if that and then suddenly declares that they are not going to go through with this. He then starts blathering on about our credit (even though the credit check hadn't even been done) and then starts on my other half saying he didn't know she was on benefits, this had already been mentioned, and she is only on benefits due to being signed off work at the moment. The rent wasn't even going to be payed by her it would have come from my account and I'm working full-time. This however wasn't good enough for him he then makes some half-a***d apology and says he'll transfer the money back to me (which hasn't happened yet). He then gets up to leave and I go with him to see him out, he opens the door doesn't say goodbye or look back and just slams the door in my face! Leaving me fuming and my other half crying her eyes out!
