If you want poor service as a tenant, look no further. I had to report broken heating a number of times during winter to get the boiler even partially fixed. Everytime I rang up it was "its up to the landlord". When I complained about a broken tumble dryer, I was told this wouldn't be replaced because "it is a luxury item". In fact, you get nowhere with these people until you threaten legal action. A number of repairs to door were not carried out despite being reported.
Now I have moved out and, despite making some changed, like sorting out the garden- which was formerly a wilderness- and replacing missing lightbulbs and lampshades- my deposit is being withheld. An inspection found some "dirt" in the toilets- despite them being cleaned. The kitchen cupboards have allegedly shown the same thing. Instead of spending a few minutes doing the additional cleaning which they allege is needed, they spend time taking photographs of the alleged "dirt"! Worst of all, they allege that I have burnt a carpet, which is 100% untrue. They refuse to budge in any of their allegations, and refuse to acknowledge that they were ever at fault over repairs not carried out, and requests not responded to. Indeed, the carpet burn is apparently "my fault" because i did not report it....despite receiving no results from previously reported defects!
My advice would be to avoid Move Residential. Staff are rude and confrontational and there is no customer care. You are almost treated like a criminal for being a tenant, and paying them money. There are much better letting agents in Liverpool- don't be taken in by the slick office. Avoid.
What agent could do to change your mind?
The agent could admit responsibility for my poor experience to begin with. The staff should apologise for the way I have been treated. They should attend a training course in customer relations.
