I originally let my property out with Streets Ahead in Croydon 2 years ago, paying a 20% fee for a so-called "premium service". For some reason, management of property was transferred to the Crystal Palace office, where I have had nothing but problems. Although they continue to deduct 20% fees, they seem to be unaware of the terms of their contract with me - the fees I pay them are supposed to cover all repairs, insurances and safety certificates as well as quarterly inspections and reports. When they recently tried to charge me for these services in addition to what I was paying them, I discovered they had not actually been carrying out the quarterly inspections. I wrote to complain to the Crystal Palace office, including the manager of the branch, on 12 February and they still have not got back to me. I have tried to ring the number I have for them several times today but can only reach their voicemail. Their service is abysmal and they don't even have the decency to respond to my complaint at what I consider to be a breach of contract. The flat which I let is my only asset, I no longer live in the area and for that reason wanted a highly-rated agent to take care of my interests. Streets Ahead have fallen seriously short and I deeply regret having engaged this third-rate company.
