From the beginning to end absolutely terrible.
The lease contract's standard clauses cannot be changed even the landlord and the tenant agree. I was not aware of this at the time when I put the deposit time as I would have then asked for the contract and my offer would be subject to the changes being accepted. At the end landlord had to get additional insurance as Dexters Legal refused to make any changes to the contract. So who cares whether it is tenant or landlord?
Deep cleaning was booked last minute (the day before the moving in date) and done poorly. The agreed repairs were not done and of course the agent did not bother to tell us as we would have then delayed the moving in.
The manager lied by saying that they also represent the tenants' rights and interests. An absolute lie, considering that they look after the landlord's best interests. Check out the statement on the Property Ombudsman's website in the UK.
At the end because everything was terrible and they pushed the landlord to handover the management to themselves, i.e. "they need to manage it". The lady at the management part of the company was extremely aggressive with my husband until the Chiswick manager pointed out to her that in fact the landlord was in breach of the contract and they need to speed up on finishing the repairs, which were supposed to be done before the moving in date. It took some time as you can imagine.
We asked for money back and the response was that at the end we rented the flat, so a service (however terrible) was performed.

I agree avoid Dexters Chiswick - liars, schemers, they will play you. The general theme throughout is that they lie & you can't trust them. Georgina McConnell is a property manager at Chiswick who lies to her landlord clients & also her tenants, she trains Sarah Dowling who is like a rabid dog frothing at the mouth & throwing tantrums - she asks you questions & before you've responded she's yelling over the top of you. You'll change your mind once your tenancy has been underway for a while - they're lovely at the beginning, but once things go wrong, the property needs repair, you don't have electricity, hot water they will lie, cheat & be disgustingly rude to you. They do not seem to have a structure when it comes to fees. Do not assume that just because you've signed a paper or given your card details, that any fees or deposites will be taken. They don't. Not to be trusted.
