The property I was living was from Contempo Letting and initially was not under their management, they told me that the owner herself manage the property so they cant take care. The property was terribly dirty when I entered. I had made a call to their Aberdeen office, they replied that they cant do anything and they gave me the number of the owner, who did not respond for 2 days. The shower panel was broken, bath mat was horrible. But after two weeks time the owner replaced them, by that time I had cleaned most part of the house. The cooker was too dirty and I could not clean, I had asked the owner to arrange some body to clean it, but she did not. After few months Contempo take over the management of the property. When I left the property, I had kept the property much cleaner than I had received it - but still they charged me more than £100 for cleaning the property, I know only the cooker was not clean and I did not received it in a clean condition.
Secondly, they charged me for over staying in the property. I had left on 24th December and my tenancy period was upto 31st December. I had informed them the same earlier and they told me that my friend can return the keys to them later on, but they did not informed me that they will be closed from 24th December to 4th December. I have sent several mail to Ms. Sasha (Contempo Aberdeen) wit the phone number of my friend to know what to do with the key deposit, but only received automated mail that they are closed till 4th December. She informed me on 6th January that my friend can drop the key at the letter box. Accordingly, they returned the key on 7th Jan.
Contempo has deducted over tenancy for 10 days without any reason. And a key making cost of £200. They had an additional key of the flat that they had used during the inspection of the flat when they got the management responsibility sometime in September, but did not understand why they need to prepare the new key set. Again, they did not change the keys to the main entry door of the the building (I have got that information from my friend who stays in the same building). So I believe that contempo is telling a lie just to grab few pounds from my deposit amount.
